Rob Devlin is Co-founder and CEO of Metalenz. He holds a joint BS/MS in Electrical Engineering and Materials Science at Drexel University and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics at Harvard University in the lab of Professor Federico Capasso. His research has spanned the topics of nanofabrication, nanophotonics and materials science. He has authored or co-authored 20+ publications, one of which was selected as the cover of Science journal and voted one of Science’s 10 breakthroughs of the year in 2016. These publications have provided many critical advances and first demonstrations in the emerging field of Metasurfaces including the first demonstration of high efficiency metasurfaces throughout the visible spectrum. His work focuses on moving scientific research toward real-world applications leading to 15 patents and patent applications.

Pawel Latawiec is CTO at Metalenz, where he leads metasurface design and engineering efforts. He holds a B.S. in physics from the California Institute of Technology and a PhD in applied physics from Harvard University. His team is focused on constructing novel architectures for metasurface imaging and illumination and developing computational techniques for scalable objective-first design and fabrication.

John Graff brings a deep background in semiconductor and photonic device fabrication to his role as VP of Engineering at Metalenz. Most recently John served as Director of Solar Technology at Applied Materials, where he was responsible for developing novel fabrication process technology and product roadmaps for high efficiency crystalline silicon solar cells. As the third employee of MIT spin-off Luminus Devices, John was the principal device engineer for the world’s highest power LEDs, enabled by photonic crystal nanopatterning.

He was the engineering program manager during the successful product launch into demanding consumer electronics markets. John holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Boston University, and is co-inventor on 30 issued US patents.

Lars Johnsson is the VP of Product, Sales & Marketing at Metalenz. Drawing on his experience from over 25 years of repeated success growing market share, revenue and profit while bringing new and disruptive products to market Lars leads all aspects of Metalenz’s product roadmap, go-to-market strategy and revenue generation. Prior to Metalenz, Lars was VP of Mobile Marketing at Skyworks Solutions, Sr. Director of Product Marketing at TDK-InvenSense and Broadcom Corporation. In addition, Lars was instrumental in driving 3 start-ups from pre-revenue concept to profitable exits, as VP of Marketing & Business Development at Cavendish Kinetics and Beceem Communications, and Flarion Technologies, which he co-founded.

Mari-Anne Gagliardi is the VP of Operations at Metalenz, where she oversees the company’s activities across all aspects of operations. Her expertise spans across various domains, from small to large organizations in the semiconductor and electronics industries.  Before Metalenz, Mari-Anne served as Director of Operations at Qorvo Power Device Solutions and as VP of Operations for United Silicon Carbide Inc. At Qorvo Power, she focused on developing company’s SiC product supply chains, integrating legacy processes and tools into Qorvo systems while driving rapid growth. Before joining Qorvo Power, she held a position as Director of Operations at Goodrich/Sensors Unlimited, where she led operations for InGaAs wafer fab, microelectronics assembly, and camera manufacturing. Mari-Anne has a Master’s degree in Engineering Physics from Helsinki University of Technology in Finland.

Brad MacMullin is the CFO for Metalenz, where he oversees all aspects of the company’s finance, accounting, risk, tax and human resources functions.  

Brad has held senior finance roles at both public and private companies, most recently serving as the CFO for Lucidity Lights, where he helped drive the acquisition of a competitor and increase revenue by 10x year over year.  Prior to that, Brad was the VP of Finance for Arctic Sand Technologies, a semiconductor start-up that was successfully sold to Murata Manufacturing.  He also was the Director of Finance for Aspen Aerogels, where he gained valuable experience laying the accounting and financial infrastructure necessary to become a public company on the NYSE.  Brad began his career in the public accounting field with Grant Thornton and Deloitte, before he moved to Analog Devices where he worked overseas as the head of finance for its assembly and test facilities in the Philippines.  

Brad is a licensed CPA, who holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University, and also received a PLD from Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program.

Dr. Hao Zhou is a serial entrepreneur who founded Qtech as general manager, where he developed COF (Chip On Flex) technology, which became mainstream CIS module assembly technology in the industry, and he also led the effort in pushing TSV (Through Silicon Via) technology based wafer level packaging into mass production. He was instrumental in selling the TSV business to a public company and TSV is one of the standard packaging technologies for CMOS imaging sensors in the industry. He has also started a multimode humanoid robot company as CEO and enjoyed exploring the frontier of artificial intelligence. He started his career as lithography engineer and later as program manager developing one of the world’s first cell phone camera modules. He holds a PhD in EE from LSU and a BS in Microelectronics from Peking University.

Scott Catlin is General Counsel for Metalenz, managing both intellectual property and legal functions.  Previously, he was AVP for URVentures at the University of Rochester (UR), and General Counsel and Chief IP Counsel for Abbott Medical Optics. He has experience as in-house counsel for several startups, an associate in leading law firms, a consultant for Bain & Co., and as a JAG in the USAF.  He holds a BS in Optics from UR and JD from Notre Dame Law School, and is a registered patent attorney.
